Bow Making
Civilization definitely went in another direction after the bow was created some time around 10,000 BC. The grandchild of the Atlatl this was high tech at the time. Then with the birth of fire arms, bows began to disappear. They are still a great way to catch food and can be constructed without too much trouble.
